The official dog of the Boston Marathon, a golden retriever named Spencer, died on February 17th, 2023 from inoperable cancer. He was diagnosed in September of 2022 and survived through 28 months before passing.

During the 24 ore di Torino, the longest 24 hour running event in Italy, Robbie Britton broke the record with a distance of 277.439km (172.392 miles) in one day.

Last week, Rev. Jim Mathews at Saint Lucy’s Church announced he planned to stop hosting the sunrise service on Easter morning after 36 years. This week, All Saints Catholic Church in Syracuse worked with St. Lucy’s to carry on the tradition.

On Saturday, January 21st, track star Sha’Carri Richardson was removed from an American Airlines flight after an argument with a flight attendant. Richardson recorded her experience with two videos posted on her Instagram.

Emily Sisson Breaks The Women’s American Half Marathon Record In Houston

Current American women’s marathon record holder and Olympian Emily Sisson now holds the newest American women’s half marathon record time (66:52).

Emily Sisson, 31, set the new American half marathon record in Houston on January 15th. She set the previous American half marathon record last May in Indianapolis with a time of 67:11. She shaved off 19 seconds with her new record this week.
